“Little House on the Prairie”, the TV show that was an adaptation of the children’s books by Laura Ingalls Wilder about a pioneer family living in the 1880s in the American Midwest, is headed to the big screen courtesy of Paramount.

Last year it looked like it would be turned into a movie with Sony, but that didn’t come to fruition.

Filmmaker Sean Durkin will direct while Abi Morgan will write the script. No actors have so far been cast.

The very wholesome “Little House on the Prairie” aired 1974 to 1983 on NBC and starred Michael Landon, Melissa Gilbert, Karen Grassle and Melissa Sue Anderson.
