DORIS ROBERTS from “Everybody Loves Raymond” died on Sunday of natural causes.  She was 90.

Doris played RAY ROMANO’s mother Marie on the show.  Yesterday, he said, quote, “[She] had an energy and a spirit that amazed me.  She never stopped . . .

“Whether working professionally or with her many charities, or just nurturing and mentoring a young, green comic trying to make it as an actor, she did it all with such a grand love for life and people and I will miss her dearly.”

PATRICIA HEATON also paid tribute on Twitter, calling her a “consummate professional,” who was funny, tough, and loved life.

Doris was also on “Remington Steele” in the ’80s, and a sitcom called “Angie” in the late ’70s.  She won five Emmys . . . four for “Everybody Loves Raymond”.  Her movie roles included “Christmas Vacation” and “Grandma’s Boy”.

(People.com has more celebrity tributes.  Here’s video of Doris from “Everybody Loves Raymond”.  She also did a funny “Netflix and chill” skit for Funny or Die just last year.  Here’s the UNCENSORED video.)
